Christmas, Come Hell or High River!
I have been away too long, glad Halloween is gone and we can move on to my favourite holiday season CHRISTMAS! This year as many of you know we lost almost all of our Christmas decorations. During the time of the flood the motto here was "Come Hell or High River we will rebuild the town"
I asked on Facebook if anyone wanted to do an ornament swap, a few ladies did so we set the date to meet this morning at the Whistle Stop Cafe, downtown High River.
The cafe is an old railway carriage that was converted, it suffered terribly in the flood but the town of High River sold it to the people who ran the cafe for $1.00. They also gave them the $25,000.00 that was allocated for repairs so the couple could restore the rail carriage.
We are meeting there at 10.30 for coffee and to exchange ornaments. These are the ones I made!
I hope they like them, one will also be given to the owners of the cafe for their Christmas tree.
I'll post more pictures later today along with some stitching I have to share.
