Here is a picture of our house probably taken on Sunday or Monday, we are still surrounded by water in this picture, the basement had about 6-7' of dirty water in it! I am hoping I can save some of my stitching and embroideries my mum has made for me over the years, maybe some of the boxes get to float! My house is towards the bottom of the picture, it's the middle house in the cul de sac with the line of trees behing it and the White Jeep on the driveway, thank goodness that's still there, no idea what we will be faced with inside the house as its been nearly a week since this happened!
Mum and Dad's house also flooded, there's is the middle row of this picture, second front door in!
I feel worse for them than us in a way, at least we have years to put ourselves back together!
This next picture is closer to the river, the water headed straight towards our house!
Mother Nature decided the flood waters couldn't go any further, so she sent it back to us!
Which is why Mum and Dad's place flooded, in the North and South Eastof town there is still a lake in amongst the houses, it's a little surreal at the moment and the town of High River is still evacuated and being guarded by Police and the Army.
Daisy was so tired she needed a nap, she needs her sleep this one!
This where we are living for the next little while, 10pm Monday June 24th.
The good thing is we are all safe and so are the dogs......
