I have been making these quilted ornaments over the past few months, they are lovely and great to give as a gift, they look nice in a bowl as a decoration or hanging from a display stand or Christmas tree! I was calling them Friendship Balls but I got some snigger's from a co - worker, I won't give you her name but it starts with a H.....and ends with an R so I changed the name back to quilted ornaments...
Also, I have been playing with some needle felting, I tried the wool roving but not too keen as it looked a bit messy, so I used felt, the needle felts the felt to the felt????? and then I will embellish it with some stitching and beads etc. This is a kit I have had for about 4 years so it really needs to be finished!
A few weeks ago I joined the Farmer's Wife QAL with Donna over at Brynwood Needleworks
I love all the little blocks but on my they are fussy and fiddly, I have made three so far, onto the fourth block now. Good job there is no deadline!

Your friendship balls are beautiful! I tried making one of these a long time ago and it was an awful mess - some of us have it and some of us don't.
ReplyDeleteLovely balls.are they stitched or pinned.did we make some of those years ago.like your Christmas crafts..love this time of year.xx
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas ball look lovely I bet you went through a lot of pins. I have made 2 Christmas balls.
ReplyDeleteYour ornaments are gorgeous. Love the quilted ornaments and the felted decorations are just sweet! And guess what...I am also working on Farmer's Wife...I am doing it very slowly, using Marti Mitchell templates when I can. I have only made 4 blocks so far and plan to take my time! They can be tricky, and like you, I don't have a deadline!
