Phew - We made it through the rain!

After a long absence and a spring filled with apprehension as to whether the river would devour the town again I am pleased to report that WE MADE IT THROUGH Monsoon season.
Now here in High River, Alberta,  we don't strictly get 'Monsoon' season BUT it sure feels like it in June! Loads to show you, now where do I begin? A couple of pics of the house, it went from this -
to this!
This....
To this...

Love this cushion!
So nice to be almost finished renovating the basement, it's been a long hard slog but worth it! Now we have to start on the main floor again.  Mum and Dad are also safely back in their own home after 9 months of living in their RV and 2 hotels!
A while back I started a small penny rug kit

My new pincushion, the pattern came from The Painted Quilt originally, it was a class I took at our local quilt store here in High River.

Then I enrolled in Lisa Bonjean's "Words to live by" love the wool on cotton BUT not the way the words are put onto the fabric - with a pen? Not sure if I will be putting the words on mine.

Then it was onto Lisa Bonjean's Summer block of the week! for 14 weeks you receive a package each week with everything in to make an appliqué block and 2 or 3 pieced blocks, it's lovely but a LOT of work. piecing is not my thing so we shall see how I do with this one.  I am saving the stitching to take with me on Holiday,

I also enrolled in Lisa's summer 2014 summer stitch along. This is pretty and shouldn't take too much time, mine is done in Blues', I might put it in the Blue bedroom in the basement or the sewing room.
The charm pack and the piece of fabric are from Kathy Schmitz, I think its called piecemakers?

I have painted a new (to me) dresser and hutch using Annie Sloan 's chalk paint in Duck Egg Blue.  I like the paint but not so keen on the waxing to finish, I may use varnish in the future
Still needs sorting out and the glass putting back in the doors!
In May I went to Heritage Park Festival of Quilts with my friend Jane , lovely quilts , lovely weather!
The snowmen are to be a new block of the month from The Quilt Patch

A design from Crabapple Hill, love this quilt!

Love this house, wish I could live in one like this!
Tthis Yo Yo quilt was made by a lady who suffers from insomnia from time to time!

A Canada Day - Rememberance Day - Calgary Stampede Wallhanging

This was a small kit where all the pieces were already cut out by laser, made  it really quick to finish up and hang in our new trailer when we were camping with mum and dad at Fort Macleod on the
Canada Day long weekend!
Hope I haven't bored you too much, be back soon!
