HAPPY NEW YEAR

WISHING YOU ALL A HAPPY AND HEALTHY 2012

Here we are again, the end of yet another year, older, wiser (maybe) but still here to enjoy life!

In February I await the birth of another granddaughter, my daughter has been plagued with problems throughout this pregnancy so fingers crossed all will go well, I sure all will be fine and I'll have lots on Pink pictures to show you come February... Here's a little Cardigan I finished crocheting last night... (the background blocks are a quilt I have just started for the baby, I might use some Minky to back it with...

Our weather here in Alberta has been abnormally warm for this time of year, normally we have extremely cold temperatures, sunshine and snow, but not his year, we have had (Chinook conditions)   Definition: A Chinook is a warm, dry, gusty wind that blows down the eastern slopes of the Canadian Rockies, across the foothills and the Western prairies. With a Chinook, the temperature rises quickly, sometimes up to 20°C in an hour. Wind speed Can range from 16 km/h (10 mph) to 60 km/h (37 mph), gusting to 100 km/h (62 mph). Southern Alberta gets an average of 20 to 30 Chinook days a year, most often in the winter. The term Chinook comes from an Indian word meaning "snow eater."
